A passion for Pet Care
The Summer House is run by Sarah, Steve and Tom Weston, who you may know from Longcourse Cattery. We are all experienced and work in animal care full time. As pet lovers ourselves, we will ensure that your pets get the best care while you are away. The Summer House is separate to our cattery meaning your pets will have a calm and relaxing space.
Who do we care for?
Rabbits
We have five indoor enclosures available for rabbits. Each enclosure is extendable meaning we can house larger groups from the same household.
Guinea Pigs
Our enclosures are also used for Guinea Pigs. Our rooms are fully indoor and heated/air conditioned depending on the weather.
Tortoises
Large Tortoises can stay in these rooms too (heat/UV lamp must be brought by owner) or alternatively you may bring your own vivarium.
Reptiles
We can accommodate small reptiles, such as Geckos, or even amphibians like Frogs. Own Vivarium, equipment and food should be supplied. We can provide live food for longer stays.
Birds
Birds, such as Parrots and Budgies, can stay too. We recommend you bring your own if you can transport it. We do have two large parrot cages for customers to book out too! Have a look in our gallery!
Rodents
Gerbils, Mice, Hamsters, Rats, Degus & Chinchillas are welcome too! They should arrive in their own enclosure with their own equipment and usual food. Although not rodents, Hedgehogs are welcome too.

A perfect environment
The Summer House is fully insulated and heated during the winter months and air conditioned during the summer, meaning your pet will be comfortable whatever the weather.
What’s included?
Each room measures 6ft x 2ft. These are all extendable for larger groups. Each pen has a hideaway hut, hay tray, water bottle and litter tray (if required). Bedding for these hutches is provided by us, but you are welcome to bring along your own if preferred.
For our smaller guests…
We also have a ample space to house smaller guests such as tortoises, rodents, birds and reptiles. We are able to accommodate your home setups, including heaters and lamps.
